The Money is in the List

It has been said a thousand times by a thousand marketers; the money is in the list.   This is true if you are an author, marketer, inventor, or just want to publicize your ideas. While we may have fantastic websites, very few people buy on the first visit.  If we don’t remind them of our product, book, or idea; visitors soon forget about us and move onto something else.   Starting out, very few of us can afford the banner ads and other paid traffic methods to get our first list built.   Good thing for us there are a few proven free methods for list building.  Here are some techniques you can use to start you off.

First, attract some free traffic by summiting quality article to sites like E-zine Articles.  While you cannot put a link to your site in your article, you can place it in the provided resource box.  Articles provide quality traffic because visitors going to your site from articles are already interested in what you have to say.  Make certain that your article is relevant to your selected niche and that you use appropriate keywords.

Next, think of all the emails you send in a year.  After you do that, make sure you link to your site in your email signature.

Give away events are a way to build a list quickly.  Sign up for a free account and submit your gift to the event website. Then, all the contributors will actively promote the launch and you will benefit from having built a list from free from all the visitors that come to the event.

Finally, contribute to niche forums. Forums are a great place to show your target audience that you can provide value. Once you’ve established yourself as an authority in your field, you can share your contact info with other members of the forum through your profile and post a link to your page or blog in your signature.
